lunes:  Bell ringer: You will receive your grades sheets for the nine weeks, get papers back, correct any that need correction, and get back group project grades.

Lección: In order for you to effectively communicate in Spanish, we have to learn some critical verbs that will assist you when you speak.

Just like in inglés, we use pronombres to avoid repetition of nouns. Well, we have already learned subject pronombres, now it is time to move onto Direct and Indirect Object pronouns.

In order to do this, we will make sure you understand what those parts of speech are in inglés first and then we will move onto español. 

Hoy, we are going to start in la sección de gramática con "Los Verbos Irregulares en la Forma de 'Yo'".

What = a wacky weather forecast for the seven days of the week ( a different weather phrase each day) for a non-droppable summative, due viernes, el 7 de febrero.

How = On non-lined 8.5X11" paper

With color

Neatly done 

Draw a picture for each day of the week denoting the weather for the day (snow one day, hot the next) 

Label each picture with the phrase that corresponds

Write the temperature phrase for the weather for the day (Make sure the temperature makes sense for the weather phrase.)

Days of the week start on Monday and are lower case.

All the writing must be done in Spanish. 

Numbers do not have to be spelled out. 

Extra credit for doing the temperature in Celsius in addition to the F.

4th period, lip-synch, individually, video recorded.

6th period, change words, with a group assigned, video recorded.

7th period, change words, with a group assigned, to be performed live in class.

martes: español I Bell ringer: With the speed dating information, you are to write 20 different sentences. The way you are to do this is the following:

1. You are to escribir about 10 individual compañeros stating what he/she likes. You are to use the format:
     * A _______ le gusta(n) ....... (whichever answer you choose to write.)

2. You are to then escribir 10 oraciones about two people who like the same thing.
     * A _______ y a ______ les gusta(n) ___________.

Make sure you escribir usando bolígrafo.

While you do this, I will collect the videos.

miércoles: español II: Escriban diez oraciones diciéndome que hacen sus compañeros de clase con la información de la actividad de ayer y hoy. Cinco de las oraciones tienen que ser de estudiantes individuales en la clase. Las otros cinco tienen que ser de personas plurales. Es para una calificación.

Tarea: You need to cut out ten things from either a magazine/newspapers, clipart or pics from the computer of diez items you like. Then, you need to cut out diez for things you don't like for a total of veinte.
Put them all on una hoja de papel. Solo la frente de la hoja.
You have to escribir the sentence under the foto en español.
Try to limit yourself to words you have already learned en clase. The diccionario can be peligroso.

martes: Today, we took notes over 'Gustar' after we wrote 3 sentences for a bell ringer. After the sentences were written, students came and typed one sentence on the computer for everyone to see.

miércoles: Today's lesson was to work with the formation of questions. This was in different formats based on the sentences done on Tuesday.

jueves: Hoy, we are going to work with the verb 'gustar' again. This time, we are getting ready for an interview conducted by the teacher and other students.

viernes: Para la lección de hoy, the students are going to interview each other about their likes and dislikes. Also, we are going to cantar the song "El Señor Don Gato". Si we have tiempo, we will escribir cartas a Papa Noel.

NOT THIS YEAR...

lunes:

3-6 clases (en español) = We are covering time with a packet. These will be due on Thursday, the day of the quiz. This packet will count for four grades. We also talked about the importance of grades and GPA. The important dates apply to these classes as well.

martes: Using transparencies, we will practice time with sentence formation of old information of 'Ser', time, date, pronouns, and adjective agreement. You will also receive a packet today over time that will be due on Thursday which will allow you to review and study for the Time test on Thursday (Día de los Muertos will be on there as well). This packet will be for 4 grades.

miércoles= We will do a time practice sheet in class for a grade. We will do some together and the rest will be done on your own. As soon as you are done, you will turn in the sheet and you can work on the packet with the time that is left in class.

Reminder: Study for the quiz for Thursday and turn in time packet.

jueves: After five minutes study time, you will turn in the packets and we will then take the Time/Día de los Muertos test. If time permits, we will go over the GPA chart in 1st period. All other Spanish classes have already done this. Winners announced for the Calavera contest.

viernes: Today, we will start a new unit, "Qué Te Gusta?" with cultural notes taken in the cultural section of your spirals.
